Myrtle Beach is best known for its daytime activities, like the beach, golf and waterparks. But there's also a lot of fun going on after the sun goes down at the local bars, dance clubs and watering holes.

Whether you are looking to hit the dance floor at a night club or ride a barstool at a beach bar, you can find the right place to suit your mood in Myrtle Beach. Here are 10 hot spots to hit during a hot summer night out on the town:

Banana Boat: One of the best beach bars in Myrtle Beach is right under your nose, at least while you're sitting on your oceanfront balcony. Located in the lobby of Long Bay, this indoor/outdoor bar and cafe is a great place to enjoy a frozen drink in the ocean breeze day or night.

Bumstead's Pub: This English sports pub is located in the heart of downtown Myrtle Beach and draws a nicely mixed crowd of locals and tourists. Only one block from Plyler Park on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, this is a popular hangout after the free concerts and fireworks shows. As a bonus, the adjoining Dagwood’s Deli serves some of the best and fattest sandwiches on the Grand Strand.

Carolina Country: Located on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, this new country/western bar features cold beer, live country music and lots of two-stepping on the dance floor. It's a great place to stay out late after the Hot Summer Nights concert series downtown.

Celebrity Square: This Broadway at the Beach nightlife district features more than a dozen bars of varying themes. Go disco dancing at Revolutions, enjoy frozen drinks at Fat Tuesday's, catch the big game at Broadway Louie’s Sports Bar, or experience the live music and comedy at Crocodile Rock's and more by going door to door at this street party. One cover charge gains admission to multiple clubs.

House of Blues: This Barefoot Landing restaurant/bar/concert venue hosts nationally touring musical acts in the main concert hall, and regional and local bands at Crossroads, the in-house bar. The Sunday Gospel Brunch is an inspirational feast for the body and soul.

Hurricane Maggie's: Located only two blocks from Long Bay, this two-story bar has a cozy rooftop patio bar, a game room with pool tables and darts, and a downstairs lounge with live music and dancing. Maggie's stays open late so stop in for a nightcap.

Liberty Taproom: This popular local watering hole is walking distance from Long Bay, only two blocks away in Northwoods Shopping Center. Serving house made beers, steaks and a wide selection of dishes; Liberty Taproom also offers one of the best happy hours in town.

Ocean Annie's: There's no need to wait until the sun goes down to get the party started at this happening hot spot. Located in the Arcadian Shores section behind Sands Beach Club, this beach bar features live music on the outdoor stage and dancing on the pool deck.

Pine Lakes Tavern: Located next to the historic Pine Lakes International Country Club, the first golf course in Myrtle Beach, this gastro pub serves a wide selection of microbrews. The pool room also hosts occasional live music and the outdoor patio deck overlooks scenic Pine Lake.

The Bowery: This historic honkytonk in downtown Myrtle Beach is still packing them in with live country music and cold beer. CMA Hall of Fame group Alabama was the house band here back in the 1970s, and a talented group of musicians take the stage seven nights a week.
