The Grand Strand may be best known for hot fun in the summertime, but the wintertime can be a blast, too, thanks to Myrtle Beach's newest indoor attraction. Designed to give active visitors and locals alike a venue where they can literally bounce off the walls and floors even when the weather doesn't cooperate with outdoor plans, Rockin' Jump is Myrtle Beach's first trampoline park, and it provides plenty of space for children to burn off some energy under one very large roof.
Featuring more than 23,000 square feet of wall-to-wall fun, Rockin' Jump is the ultimate indoor playground where kids can get active in any kind of weather and have a good time in a unique gymnastics setting. Various types of play areas can keep the little ones entertained for hours and provide a safe venue for them to take part in an array of games such as dodgeball, basketball and general jumping around, all without fear of breaking lamps and furnishings.
Located in the heart of the city near the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, this climate-conditioned complex offers a wide range of activities for both the young and the young at heart. Kids can kick off their shoes and bounce around in their socks while moving from attraction to attraction, such as the 30-foot rock-climbing wall, a jousting pit that hovers over a padded pit for safe landings and an American Ninja Warrior-esque obstacle course to test their skills and race against the clock.
The first of its kind in Rockin' Jump's national chain, the Ninja Challenge Course presents a stiff challenge for extreme-sports enthusiasts. Swing from rings and other hanging obstacles like the quad steps, trapeze, cargo net, tube swing and an unstable bridge while trying to avoid falling into the pit filled with foam pads. Even a crash landing in the pit of foam padding is a fun freefall.
For patrons who prefer more traditional stick-and-ball sports, the Rockin' Jump game center includes a basketball court featuring spring-loaded launching pads that allow even the smallest hoopsters to experience the thrill of slam dunking like an NBA star. A pair of dodgeball courts with padded ramps and obstacles allow kids to hit and be hit with soft spherical objects while also running and diving from danger. A padded jousting pit and stunt bag add to the excitement.
For younger kids, there is a special section reserved for children ages 6 and under where the little ones can take part in a variety of activities without fear of getting run over by their older counterparts. Rockin’ Jump is also conveniently located next door to the Children’s Museum of South Carolina, an educational and entertainment venue designed for younger kids.
Parents are allowed to join in the fun at Rockin’ Jump, or they can keep an eye on their children while relaxing in the lounge area, which features a seating area as well as the Rockin’ Jump Café for a drink or bite to eat. The café serves pizza, pretzels, salads and a long list of beverages, so families can enjoy a meal while taking a break from all the action. The lounge also offers six big-screen TVs, tables and chairs, and free Wi-Fi capability so parents can kill some time online.
Rockin’ Jump offers play time by the hour and is available for special events, such as birthday parties and group functions. Private party rooms are available, and party packages include bounce time, pizzas, snacks and drinks, and other VIP treatment. Rockin’ Jump is located at 2200 N. Oak Street in Myrtle Beach.
