In the coming months and years, Barefoot Landing will introduce a number of exciting new additions. During your next visit to the complex, be on the lookout for some of these coming attractions:
Lucy Buffett’s LuLu’s: Set to open in spring 2018, this 20,000-square-foot family destination will bring together diverse attractions including a 400-seat restaurant, a large beach area, an entertainment area hosting live music nightly, an arcade, a rope-climbing course and “LuLu’s Shag Beach Bar.” The LuLu’s chain, owned by the sister of musician (and fellow restaurateur) Jimmy Buffett of “Margaritaville” fame, already boasts similar restaurants/entertainment venues in the popular beach destinations of Gulf Shores, Alabama, and Destin, Florida. The laid-back new LuLu’s will offer a menu featuring such signature creations as the top-selling Crab Melt; the “Pa-Menna” Cheeseburger topped with pimento cheese, bacon and a fried green tomato; and a long list of frozen drinks, cocktails, and house beers and wines.
Dockside Village: LuLu’s will serve as the initial component of a planned Barefoot Landing waterfront restaurant district known as Dockside Village. The vision for the district, all highly walkable and set along the Intracoastal Waterway, calls for a collection of waterfront eateries offering a range of culinary options, all interspersed with plentiful and inviting common areas. Completion of the transformation, all taking place near the current Barefoot Landing restaurant Greg Norman Australian Grille, is expected over the next couple of years.
Kentucky Mist Moonshine: Based in eastern Kentucky’s Appalachian Mountains, this Prohibition Era-rooted distillery has plans to soon open a pair of tasting bars/gift shops in Barefoot Landing and at Myrtle Beach hot spot Broadway at the Beach. Visitors to either location can find moonshine flavors including Corn Mist, a traditional “white lightning” moonshine; a sweeter Mist offering made with sugar cane; Apple Pie; Caramel Apple; Lemonade; and infused Apple, Blackberry, Cherry, Cranberry, Grape, Peach, and Strawberry varieties. The distillery also produces a line of vodkas, including traditional, barrel-aged and cranberry-flavored offerings.
