Spend a Thanksgiving To Remember at the Beach

The holidays are made extra special when they’re spent on the Grand Strand. Thanksgiving, in particular, falls during the best time of the season when the weather has cooled off but isn’t too cold, the beaches are much more bare than summer but are a beautiful escape for a sweater-wrapped sunset walk, and the southern coastal food is still as heavenly as ever.

Grab your family and get away to the Grand Cayman Resort for a secluded weekend together on the coast. Don’t worry, there are plenty of things to do when you leave the sand behind including eating, shopping, getting outside and getting in the holiday spirit.

Here are four things we recommend to thoroughly enjoy Thanksgiving weekend in Myrtle Beach.

1. Fill Up at Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen

Of course, you’ll want to seek out a hearty, delicious Thanksgiving meal. Paula Deen’s always serves family style, but the dishes are made extra specially during Thanksgiving. Indulge in southern favorites like fried chicken, green beans and cobbler for a quintessential holiday lunch or dinner.

2. Black Friday at the Tanger Outlets

There is no shortage of shopping to be done in Myrtle Beach, and if you’re here for Thanksgiving, the Black Friday deals at the outlets are ones you won’t want to miss. With two Tanger Outlet locations nearby, you can shop big name brands like Tory Burch, Coach, Nike and Under Armor or find even deeper discounts during this big sale weekend on local favorite stores like Palmetto Moon.

3. Myrtle Beach Turkey Trot

With four race events in four locations around the Myrtle Beach area, there’s plenty of opportunity to start your Thanksgiving Day with a motivating walk or run through beautiful beach scenes before cozying up with friends and family to dive into a delicious Thanksgiving feast. Proceeds from the Turkey Trot events will benefit the community, so it’s an ideal way to get moving and also to give thanks to the cities and businesses that you love returning to on vacation.

4. Intracoastal Christmas Regatta

Every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, the waterfront lights up with a holiday celebration along the Intracoastal Waterway. A parade of boats decked out in festive cheer start in Little River and make their way south for a joyful regatta to kick off the Christmas season. Bring chairs for the entire family to set up and watch this merry free parade.

Thanksgiving in Myrtle Beach is an experience you won’t want to miss. Enjoy making precious memories while you enjoy quality time with your loved ones and have them save when you stay at Grand Cayman Resort. This Thanksgiving will be the most cheerful yet when you take advantage of our specials, check them out!
