Ready to Hang in Myrtle Beach: Crooked Hammock Brewery

Welcome a new brewery to Myrtle Beach: The Crooked Hammock Brewery.

They’ll open the doors on this combination backyard beer garden and brewery on March 1st at Barefoot Landing. Scrumptious burgers and quirkily-named beers are in the spotlight in this American brewpub, but so too is an easygoing, fun vibe — for all ages.

Crooked Hammock Brewery comes this way from its origins in Delaware, where there are two locations. The one in Myrtle Beach is the largest so far.

A signature feature for Crooked Hammock Brewery: The backyard.

Crooked Hammock Entrance at Barefoot Landing

It’s a wide-open space with space for families (and their dogs), picnic tables, and cornhole matches. Hang out with good friends and family and let your worries fade away over a ping-pong or bocce match. There’s a hammock state of mind in this place, and locals and visitors are sure to love it. With social distancing mandates in place and the weather warming, outside is a good place to be.

Rich Garrahan is the man behind the hammock. Once in his backyard became his haven after long days at work to support his family. There, he could enjoy a cold beer and relax. He began to think, this would be great for everyone. His own backyard and little creativity combined to form this beloved brewery.

You'll Love The Brew!

You have to see the cans at Crooked Hammock Brewery. In containers as clever as their flavors, Crooked Hammock Brewery’s beer is unique. Banana Hammock, Savagely Delicious, and Yabba Dabba highlight upcoming releases. They offer beer flights so you can sample more than one as well.

Get a load of these flavors: roasted coconut nibs, marshmallows, and Fruity Pebbles cereal. The insides of the cans are just as colorful as the outsides.

These beers are definitely hammock-worthy. The brewery expects to produce more than 4,000 delicious barrels of it in the first year! Their facility includes 10 fermenters, two brite tanks, and a two-vessel 30BBL brewhouse. All you need to know, though, is that there will be plenty of scrumptious suds to go around!

Oh! And The Food!

What they serve in Delaware looks awfully delicious. The Myrtle Beach menu is finally complete, and here are some example of what it includes:

Nachos top the appetizers, with optional pulled pork, chicken, or smashed avocado. Baked Crab Dip and Fried Bread & Butter Pickles are enticing options. Jumbo wings come in Buffalo and Honey BBQ, and a unique Pineapple Express (with coconut breading).

A classic Backyard Burger highlights the handheld lineup. Crooked Hammock gets tricky with The Grandstrand Burger: a tasty short rib blend topped pimento cheese, crispy bacon, and bread & butter pickles. Grilled Chicken Bacon Ranch and Double Stacked BLT on sourdough are super alternative handhelds.

Maybe you’d like to visit for dinner. You’re in luck: Choose from Citrus Glazed Salmon, Grilled Flat Iron Steak, and Finger Lickin’ Rack of Ribs. All stars of the menu.

And although the beer is worth a long drive from anywhere, Crooked Hammock visitors can order from a full bar, too. There’s room for 140 guests inside, and 180 outside! It’ll be a party you’ll want to attend over and over.

You can even have your party here, too, with space available for your special occasion. The Crooked Hammock tasting room has table seating and food, too. Take a brewery tour soon and check it out for yourself!

You'll Love The Atmosphere, Too!

Live music, great food, and distinctive brew: That’s a pretty good draw up in Delaware, and promises to do lots of that in Myrtle Beach, too. The reviews say it all. Delaware locations get high marks for the food and beer, but also service, decor and atmosphere.

The gluten-free and vegan versions of Crooked Hammock Brewery dishes are delicious, and well-marked on the menu. And it won’t cost a ton to bring the whole family, with a kids’ menu reasonably priced and filled with kid favorites.

Don’t go home empty-handed. The Crooked Hammock Brewery has a retail spot with items for that Hammock State of Mind.

Check Out The Happy Camper and Tortuga Island!

Order an array of light fare from the restaurant menu and get a brew at the camper on-site. The Happy Camper is a 1962 Shasta, a classic — Western Pennsylvania-bought, Delaware-reimagined, and permanently parked at the North Myrtle Beach location.

Order any of the Crooked Hammock Brewery’s signature brews, both the year-round favorites and the coveted rotating seasonals. Keep a lookout for brewery exclusives to pop up, too.

The Hammock State of Mind is for all ages, all income levels, all interests. Who doesn’t love a relaxing day in a hammock, with a cold beer and delicious burger?

And then there’s Tortuga Island – stylishly jutting out into the lake at Barefoot Landing. Grab a waterfront sandwich and suds at the bar, which will seat 26 guests with room for 84. You can order all your favorite Hammock dishes, bar drinks, and brews on the island.
