The beauty if staying at Long Bay Resort is there’s really no reason to leave the property since everything you need is on-site. Attractions: Golf is the name of the game in this neighborhood. Whether you play real golf, putt-putt or something in between, you can get there by foot or golf cart. The Dunes Club is one of the best of the 100 golf courses on the Grand Strand, and it’s just a few blocks north down Ocean Boulevard. Cane Patch Par-3 also has a practice range and a putt-putt course, and Jungle Safari Mini-Golf is just a couple of blocks away. Long Bay also offers golf packages to all area courses.
Dining: One of the newest restaurants in the neighborhood (both in date and trend) is Fire & Smoke Gastropub, the first of its kind in Myrtle Beach. This is a true tasting experience for foodies and beer-lovers. In-house smoked meats and cheeses and hard-to-find microbrews are among the top menu items. Other nice stops include Bonefish Grill, Carrabba’s, Liberty Tap Room, Outback and Cheeseburger in Paradise and Collector’s Café and Gallery, a fine-dining establishment that doubles as an art museum. If you’re looking to grab lunch, the new Meathead Brothers Deli and Sam’s Corner are sure to hit the spot.
Nightlife: The new Hurricane Maggie’s is drawing a nice late-night crowd with live music and rare beers. The larger bar scene is a short cab ride away at Broadway at the Beach’s Celebrity Square, but a fun and unique experience is a beach bar pub crawl since Long Bay sits amid a row of hotels with public oceanfront pubs, such as Mango’s, Marco Polo's and St. Clement's Beach Bar & Grill.
Shopping: Just a short stroll to Kings Highway sits several small shopping plaza that feature locally owned shops and boutiques, including an antique shoppers paradise in Tuesday Morning. There also are several beachwear stores, like Eagles, Wings and Bargain Beachwear for all your beach and souvenir needs. A new Fresh Market and Food Lion are good for grabbing groceries.
